Fragmented Memory*

Memory rarely unfolds in a straight line. It lingers in fragments. A passing glance, the color of an unfamiliar street, a forgotten room, or a feeling that returns without warning. This editorial brings together such traces to form a visual narrative where personal memories and collective histories intersect.

Inspired by Asian women of the 1950s and 1960s, and pioneering figures such as Nora Noh, Maylia Fong, and Hiroko Matsumoto, the story reflects on the lasting influence of women who shaped visual culture through creativity, presence, and self-expression.
